As the weather gets colder and the economic challenges of the pandemic continue, we know many people will be in need of winter coats, mittens, hats and more this year. To help our neighbors in need, we’re organizing a winter coat and gear drive on November 7. It’s as easy as going through your closet, finding anything you’re ready to pass on, and setting it on your front steps by 10:00am on Saturday November 7. We’ll send a volunteer to your home to pick up your items for donation. We will collect new and gently used items. We are even able to collect items in need of minor repairs (broken zipper, hole, etc) as we will be coordinating volunteers who will repair damaged items. If you are donating a damaged item, please mark with masking tape or include a note pinned on the garment indicating the damage in need of repair. Please ensure all items are clean.
Register here by November 5 to schedule a pick up for your donated items.
We will happily venture to nearby neighborhoods in addition to Tangletown for pick ups.
DROP OFF LOCATION: New! F45 Training (5445 Lyndale Ave S) has generously offered to serve as a drop site where you can drop off your items if you prefer that to having a pick up at your home. They will have a bin in their front entrance for donation items. The studio is open Monday-Friday 6:30am – 8:30am, 9:15am to 10:30am, 11:45am – 1:00pm, and 4:15pm – 6:30pm. On Saturday November 7 you can drop 6:45am-10:00am. We’ll send a volunteer to pick up after 10:00am.
Donations will be given to our neighbors in need at House of Charity whose mission is to feed those in need, house those experiencing homelessness, and empower individuals to achieve independence. If you would like to make a financial donation, it can be done here.
