Tangletown Energy Efficiency Rebate

The Tangletown Neighborhood Association (TNA) is pleased to offer an Energy Efficiency Rebate program for existing residential properties in Tangletown.

The intent of this rebate program is to help existing Tangletown homes (no new construction) become more climate resilient by increasing energy efficiency, decreasing heating and cooling costs, and decreasing dependence on fossil fuels. We highly recommend starting with a Home Energy Squad visit to get a professional recommendation on the best project(s) for your home.

PLEASE NOTE: TNA will not reimburse for work done prior to a rebate pre-application being submitted and approved.

Tiers based on the property owner’s total household income will determine the maximum rebate amount the applicant is eligible for. The tier breakdown is as follows:

• Tier 1: Applicants with a total household income under $75,000 
• Tier 2: Applicants with a total household income between $75,001 and $150,000
• Tier 3: Applicants with a total household income over $150,001

Eligible Projects:

Rebates are available to households who are pre-approved and complete work between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026. The rebate cannot be greater than 50% of the total cost of the energy efficiency project, therefore the applicant will incur at least half of the cost of the project. This is a $1 to $1 matching program and applicants are eligible for only one rebate in this program.

Note: Rim joist insulation is not an eligible project on its own, but is a low cost project that can increase the comfort and heating/cooling efficiency of your home

Eligibility: All work must be completed by a professional installer and proof of estimate or signed contract must be submitted during the pre-approval process. The property where the eligible project is to be completed must be located in the Tangletown neighborhood. Tangletown homeowners and property owners of multi-unit residential properties are eligible to apply. Renters may work with property owners to apply, but the applicant must own the property and the rebate tier is based on the property owner’s income.

Please apply by submitting the rebate pre-approval form and required documentation to ensure funds are available and reserve your rebate. Limit one rebate per residential address or multi-unit residential property. Please report your total household income tier accurately.*

*This program has limited funds and is tiered in order to offer the most support to neighbors with lower incomes, creating equitable access to energy efficiency savings, healthy homes, and clean energy.

Application Agreements
In the application, you will be asked to agree to the following project guidelines.

1. I understand that Tangletown Neighborhood Association (TNA) will review my application and, if approved, will email a confirmation. No work may begin until the confirmation is received from TNA and TNA will not reimburse for work done prior to a rebate pre-application being submitted and approved. I have until 12/31/2026 to complete my project. If I do not, the funding will be returned to the pool and I will be eligible to reapply if there is another rebate offered in the future. If I do not think I can complete my project, I will notify TNA at info@tangletown.org as soon as possible, so that funding can be used by another neighbor.

2. I understand that this is a reimbursement program. I will not receive payment until I have completed the project and submitted the rebate payment request form. Additionally, I will submit: 1) A copy of final receipt/invoice, 2) Proof of Payment (canceled checks, final invoice marked paid, etc.), and 3) an installation photo (to the best of my ability; work-in-progress photos are acceptable for insulation projects). I understand that documentation must be submitted within 30 days of the completion of my project. I understand that it may take up to 30 days for TNA to process my request and mail a reimbursement check.

3. I understand that I pay all expenses up front to the installer. I understand this is a $1 to $1 matching program and that I am eligible for only one rebate in this program. I am responsible for half, and possibly more, of the cost of the project. For example: if the total cost of my insulation project after applicable rebates is over $2,000, my responsibility will be more than 50% of the project. TNA’s reimbursement is tiered based on income and capped at the amounts listed above for eligible projects. I understand the reimbursement amount is based on half of the actual cost I incur.
