Tangletown Neighborhood Day is a day to spruce up our neighborhood, pick up compost to nourish your gardens, and connect with neighbors! Plus, enter drawings for prizes and enjoy free brunch treats from local businesses.

Plate-to-Garden Compost Pick Up Fundraiser
Tangletown volunteers and our partners from Mayflower UCC distributed compost from 10 AM–Noon in the Mayflower Church parking lot–a chance to have food scraps that have been turned into compost nourish your yard. We suggested a donation of $2 per 20 pounds of compost, to help cover the cost of the compost and delivery. Attendees brought their own fillable containers, or purchased compostable sacks for $1 each. First come, first served.

Spring Spruce Up
There were plenty of reasons to stop by Neighborhood Day, event if you didn’t need compost. Residents picked up free Spring Spruce Up supplies, including yard waste bags and brought yard and garden questions to ask a Master Gardener. The League of Women Voters Minneapolis brought the dino-fun, reminding residents to get ready to vote in this year’s election.

Tangletown Neighborhood Association board members and committee volunteers were there to share what they are working on, and serving free treats from local businesses. Learn about serving on your neighborhood board.
