The Tangletown Environmental Committee hosted a successful 6th annual Clothing Swap on August 19, 2026. Volunteers collected 552 pounds of clothing and shoes as attendees entered the swap, and the majority of items were swapped among attendees. Leftover items were donated to local free and low-cost clothing resource providers.

St. John’s Lutheran Church
Join the Tangletown Environmental Committee at the St. John’s Lutheran Church fellowship hall (4842 Nicollet Ave.) for their free, annual clothing swap!
Swap details:
Clear out your drawers and bring clothing and shoes you no longer need (clean, wearable pieces you’d happily gift to a friend). Then, browse and discover treasures brought by others.
Men’s, women’s, and kids’ clothing and shoes of all sizes are welcome (see restrictions below). If you’re donating items, please try to drop them off near the beginning, between 10–11 AM.
No need to bring items in order to take items—everyone is welcome to come and “shop” the swap!
Swap Guidelines:
- Donation limit: Up to 10 items per person.
- Take as much as you like: No limit on the number of items you can bring home.
- Condition: Clothing and shoes must be clean, in good shape, and free of stains, holes, or
excessive wear—only bring what you’d give to a friend. - What NOT to bring:
- Undergarments
- Socks
- Adult-sized pajamas
- Workout clothing or yoga pants
- Clothing with embroidered or screen printed personalization (e.g. team sweatshirts)
- Non-wearable items (no housewares, bedding, linens, or toys)
Organizations offering free clothing resources (e.g.,school or community clothing closets) are invited to the swap to collect items!
