Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness

For this month’s equity resource, Washburn High School Principal Emily Palmer recommends the book Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown. This book is an accessible look at the not-so-obvious challenges of being Black in America, and how White people can be helpful and not-so-helpful. A good read for anyone who wants to better understand the complicated ways that race plays out in our city and our society.
