A letter to our neighbors

Dear Tangletown Neighbor,

The Tangletown Neighborhood Association (TNA) extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Renee Good, and to everyone grieving in the wake of her tragic killing. We recognize that moments like this deeply affect our communities — especially those already carrying fear, uncertainty, or past trauma.

Recent federal actions and the visible presence of agencies such as ICE, DHS, and CBP have heightened fear and anxiety for many residents, raising concerns about safety, family stability, access to food, school, and employment, and the ability to carry out daily activities. In times of heightened tension or uncertainty, neighborhood organizations play a vital civic role as trusted local institutions. We serve and value our diverse and complex community and acknowledge a wide range of lived experiences, legal statuses, and viewpoints. While the TNA is not an activist organization, we remain committed to community care.

Using TNA’s public platforms to share verified, publicly available information and resources, consistent with guidance from local and state leaders, is part of our responsibility to help our community make informed decisions for themselves and their families. Minneapolis has a long-standing history of welcoming newcomers, fostering strong connections, and supporting one another — values that the TNA will continue to support. We have compiled a list of just some of the available information and resources, and invite you to click on the links below for details.

In community,

Your Tangletown Neighborhood Association
